From several hours to several days, our photography tours of Paris will help you improve your photography while discovering this fascinating city. Whether you wish to get great photos of the famous monuments and historical buildings, the intimate scenes of remote streets or the sleek lines of modern architecture, we offer a photography activity that responds to your interests and schedule.

Photo Tour Participants

Our tours are equally suited for vacationers looking for a fun way to discover Paris through the lens, for business travellers with only a few hours to explore the sights, or for more serious photography enthusiasts who want to immerse themselves completely in the world of photography in Paris. Our photography tutors and guides will do more than just show you where to take pictures in Paris; they are committed and qualified to help you take your creativity and skills to the next level.

Photo Tour Objectives and Format

Our tours include tailored photography instruction on topics such as:

  • recognizing the visual elements of good composition;
  • taking greater creative control of the camera through the manual settings;
  • mastering exposure through appropriate light metering; and
  • any other particular area you would like to develop...
During the tour, we will also:
  • review and offer a friendly critique of some of your own images (submitted in advance);
  • guide you to the best locations for unique images of Paris;
  • assist you in identifying creative opportunities for photographing this romantic city; and
  • share our knowledge of Paris and its unique place in the world of photography.

Popular itineraries among participants include the Palais Royal and the covered passages, Montmartre, Le Marais or the classic sites of Paris, all of which we have described in more detail to help you choose your route. Of course if you are interested in areas other than these, we can build them into the itinerary as well.

Shared Tour Option

A Shared Tour allows you to join - or be joined by - other participants during the tour (maximum of four people). Shared Tours only happen when separate Private Tour registrants seek the same date and they agree to 'share' their tours. When a Shared Tour takes place, all registrants receive a significant rebate on their registration fees. The resulting small group environment provides an opportunity to share the learning experience with others while saving on the cost of what would otherwise be a Private Tour. To indicate your willingness to share a tour, simply select this option when you register and we will let you know if the tour will be shared.

Selected Testimonial

"I liked Sophie's patience and ability to explain things in more than one way until she could 'see' evidence showing that I grasped the concept. I particularly liked the way she continued to press these points during the course of the day to make sure I REALLY understood the value of what she were teaching me. It was fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Paris who is interested in improving their photography. You can be assured of taking home some really good images."
